The EnJust network – environmental justice in Kiel and worldwide

EnJust is a vibrant network that raises awareness of environmental justice issues and strengthens democratic participation for those affected by environmental problems. EnJust was founded in 2018 at the Geographical Institute of Kiel University and is now active worldwide. The perspective of environmental justice addresses current challenges: It makes the social and political dimensions of environmental conflicts such as climate change visible and negotiable. Environmental justice is particularly well-suited to interdisciplinary collaboration and dialogue between different groups and forms of knowledge. Today, EnJust is a network that raises awareness of environmental justice issues and unites stakeholders from science, planning, and civil society from 30 countries.

At the Seeburg, the perspective of environmental justice and Prof. Dr. Silja Klepp ‘s network will be presented. This will be followed by a discussion on environmental justice in Kiel and Schleswig-Holstein.
