On November 20, 2025, the EROSIONE multimedia project was officially presented in Kiel as part of the international workshop “Critical Social Science Perspectives on Coastal Erosion for Transformative Adaptation.” Numerous workshop participants and interested guests gathered at the Marine Science Campus to witness the public premiere.
The focus of the evening was the launch of EROSIONE. Developed by the cabuffatCeOS team in collaboration with the Working Group on Social Geography of Coasts and Seas (AG Klepp), the project brings the complex socio-ecological dynamics of coastal erosion in Sicily to life in an impressive, visual, and interdisciplinary way. Guests were able to gain initial insights into the multimedia content and the underlying research perspectives.
This was followed by a panel discussion on the topic of “Knowledge transfer in complex scientific contexts.” Julia Ahrend, Salvatore Granata, Prof. Dr. Silja Klepp, and Dr. Felix Gross discussed the challenges and opportunities of knowledge transfer between science, society, and artistic practice.
The evening was rounded off with an aperitif, which provided an opportunity for further exchange.
