Marie Fischer

Marie Fischer is a PhD student at the Centre for Climate Resilience at the University of Augsburg. Her doctoral research explores multi-sited resistance against the dominant governmentality of climate change loss and damage. She focuses on how civil society challenges the colonial logics, neoliberal practices, and subjugated subjectivities embedded in loss and damage governance. Her work is situated at the intersection of climate governmentality and social movement studies. Methodologically, she draws on ethnography and discourse analysis. This includes having done participant observation with an NGO in Costa Rica. Her latest research examines how climate justice is renegotiated in the context of an emerging collapse movement.
