We warmly invite you to join on 28.11 from 19:00 at Hansa48 to gain insights with two Mexico-based researchers into concrete fields of action of the environmental justice movement in Mexico.
Together we would like to watch «Rich man’s coffee, poor man’s coffee: dilemmas of adapting in an unjust food production system» by Celia Ruiz de Oña Plaza (approx. 45min). It´s a documentary about the struggle and hope of coffee growers in Chiapas and Guatemala, where every coffee bean tells a unique story.
The evening will also open the exhibition «Graphic art against gentrification and environmental degradation in the Colonia Independencia in Monterrey, Mexico» by Libertad Chavez-Rodriguez. It includes a graphic collection of artistic processes and productions, such as graffiti artwork, photography and other graphic artworks, which have emerged from the resistance movement against gentrification and the territorial and socio-environmental degradation of the centrally located neighborhoods Independencia, Tanques, and América 2 in the city of Monterrey, Mexiko.
The event will be held in English.
