Jan-Phillip Steinfeld
As a lawyer, he has been working as a teacher in the field of education for several years. In addition to his professional work, he conducts research on legal didactics. In his dissertation Polytome Rechtsdidaktik, he developed a microtheory of legal learning that deliberately takes into account the diverse application of law beyond the scope of lawyers’ professional practice.
A second focus of his research is global education for sustainable development. Since 2024, an important tool for this has been the Global Citizenship Education Hub, which he organizes annually in Hamburg. The Hub brings together scholars, civil society actors, and teachers with students who are interested in issues of global and legally oriented education for sustainable development. He is a member of Deutsche Gesellschaft für Erziehungswissenschaft (DGfE) and the Academic Network on Global Education & Learning (ANGEL), among others.
